End of Year Series Look #1
I gave some thought to this and although most of the outfits you’ll see in this particular series will be Christmas inspired, the blogs I felt needed to be deep, inspiring and personal this time. It’s almost the end of 2018. When I think of it, it honestly doesn’t even feel like it. So much has happened, not just to me but I’m sure to you too. Good and bad. We live our lives in a constant run, whether we’re striving for a promotion at work or looking for another job or working hard to grow our business and see our goals and dreams become a reality we have to admit that many times we get caught up. We get caught up in the highlight reel, we compare each other to others, we negative talk ourselves, we give up on ourselves, we become ungrateful and unforgiving, we hurt others but sometimes the thing that sucks the most is that we hurt ourselves.
This sounds kinda depressing lmao, but it’s the truth we sometimes live in. As I was going through everything myself that I’ve been through this year I realized that a lot of the pain, regret and failures I went through this year were my own fault. No actually, lemme rephrase… they were my fault. I’ve opened up about a few things on my blog, a few very personal things and if you’ve been following along or know me personally then you most likely know a little bit of my story. I want to talk about one of the things that affected me the most this year in hopes to help someone who’s reading understand that it’s most likely time for a change if you feel the same way.
Because most of my mistakes were self-made (let’s put it that way) I backtracked myself a lot, I honestly believe I could be way more ahead than I am now if I would’ve done some things different. Now the best thing and first step to moving forward and getting our shit together is recognizing our mistakes. From there, we must identify in ourselves why it’s holding us back and then we have to make the decision to do something about it. We all know nothing happens without action, a dream remains a dream if you don’t work towards it. So my point is, that in order to change something we need to first take full responsibility and then take action. SIMPLE AS THAT. I’ve heard others and even myself blame others for where they are or for the way they are and that’s honestly the worst thing you can do to yourself. You are giving the power to someone else when you do that, we have to understand that in order to change and make shit happen we have to take full responsibility…. because then the power will be ours to do whatever we set our mind to do.
So entering this new year, I know many of us have aspirations and resolutions and exciting projects to accomplish next year but we won’t do much if we go into 2019 with the same mentality. Make an effort to change the way you think and view things. Take your mistakes and learn from them. If you’re human like me, you’ll most likely make some more and that’s okay just don’t stay stuck there. So, just felt like sharing. Hopefully you were able to benefit from this and I truly with all my heart hope to see you do it HUGE! Can’t wait to see all the amazing things you can do. <3
Btw, this whole post is totally not touching base on this cute outfit LOL! I got the romper at Plato’s Closet for $12, since it was thrifted I tagged some similar ones. The boots were bought years ago at Macy’s but of course I linked some similar as well. Fishnet tights I got at wal-mart and you can pretty much find them anywhere lol. Loved this romper btw, super comfy and perfect for the holidays and our Houston weather haha! If you live in Houston, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
